CIRCLE
Circle Design Incorporated was an award-winning firm of graphic designers and visual communicators based in Winnipeg, Canada. During its 38 years of operation (1976 – 2014) the firm helped hundreds of clients conceive winning strategies, implement distinctive corporate identities and brands, and transform information into powerful communication and targeted marketing materials that brought about outstanding results. We also created lots of “cultural” work, including the design of dozens of stamps for Canada Post.
“We are image engineers, information architects, communication designers (and sometimes surrogate dreamers). We solve problems and create opportunities. Although our clients vary dramatically in size and purpose, they share with us a high regard for strategic thinking and a passion for excellence.”
CIRCLE wrapped up its operations in March 2014, partnering with Tétro Design Incorporated (Tétro) to ensure clients continuity of service and maintenance of the high quality design standards that they had come to expect.

In the late 1980s, I conceived a sort of in-house manifesto for CIRCLE “to work by and live by” — Maxim/Dictum. This appeared in print, on T-shirts, on mugs, on postcards, and on posters… and people still ask for copies of it. Beautifully printed “Maxim/Dictum” posters are available from the GDC Foundation here (all proceeds go directly to the Foundation).
Enjoy…
