My classes focussed on networking, teamwork, and competence clusters\u2014I particularly tried to provoke discussion regarding the significance of relationships, the importance of recognizing interconnectedness, and the value of the stability that patterns can provide (in a seemingly chaotic world). In addition to lectures, I led attendees in a team-based bridge-building workshop and the collective deconstruction of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.fritjofcapra.net\/\" target=\"_blank\">Fritjof Capra\u2019s<\/a> seminal movie, <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Mindwalk\" target=\"_blank\"><em>Mindwalk.<\/em><\/a><\/p>\n<p>This particular module was one of a five-part programme \u201caimed at helping young design professionals develop skills and knowledge to meet the challenges of internationalization, globalization, networking, as well as the environmental, social and ethical demands of the designer of tomorrow.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><em><span style=\"color: #999999;\">+ + + + +<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<p><em><span style=\"color: #999999;\">There are many kinds of bridges.<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<p><em><span style=\"color: #999999;\">There are bridges of the mind\u2014<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<p><em><span style=\"color: #999999;\">conceptual and philosophic bridges.<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<p><em><span style=\"color: #999999;\">There are bridges of the heart\u2014<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<p><em><span style=\"color: #999999;\">bridges of love, bridges of friendship and of the spirit.<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<p><em><span style=\"color: #999999;\">There are bridges of vision\u2014<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<p><em><span style=\"color: #999999;\">bridges to the future, bridges of hope and promise.<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<p><em><span style=\"color: #999999;\">The building of a bridge begins\u2014<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<p><em><span style=\"color: #999999;\">not from one side, but from each side.<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<p><em><span style=\"color: #999999;\">Flexibility is a must\u2014a rigid bridge will not long endure.<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<p><em><span style=\"color: #999999;\">Patience is a necessity\u2014for to design a lasting structure<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<p><em><span style=\"color: #999999;\">takes time. What makes the best foundation?<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<p><em><span style=\"color: #999999;\">Where shall it be placed?
