The March/April 2006 issue of Communication Arts magazine (#343) includes a review by Robert L. Peters of the ‘ERA05 World Design Congress’ held in Copenhagen, Denmark in September 2005. This multidisciplinary event grew out of a collaboration between 16 Nordic design institutions in association with the ‘three sister’ global design organizations: the International Council of Graphic Design Associations (Icograda), the International Council of Societies of Industrial Design (ICSID), and the International Federation of Interior Architects/Designers (IFI). Years in the planning, geographically far-flung and remarkably ambitious, this Scandinavian super-event commenced with three separate topical conferences in Helsinki, Gothenburg and Oslo before the culminating congress in Copenhagen.
