My imaginary God-friend in the sky is more loving and more powerful than your imaginary God-friend in the sky… and if you don’t share my unconditional belief in my imaginary all-loving God-friend’s offer that the only path to eternal life is in fact the only legitimate Way, I will rally all forces available to me and defeat you in a holy war that will once and for all prove my point. OK?

.

Come on people now, smile on your brother… everybody get together, try to love one another right now.

Off to school…

Frankfurt, Germany

One of my colleagues at Circle mentioned this morning that her daughter was off to school for her first day of Grade One. I then brought up the tradition I knew from growing up in Germany—upon entering first grade, parents and/or grandparents present the child with a “Schultüte or Zuckertüte (literally School Cone or Sugar Bag); a decorated cardboard cone filled with chocolate, candy, toys, school supplies, and other goodies. The idea is to make the anxiously awaited first day of school a little bit sweeter…

I came across this old photo of my Mom and me (at the age of 5) on my first day of school… with my Schultüte.

My Dog Sighs… free take-home street art

(somewhere on the south coast, UK)

For the last ten years, every Friday, My Dog Sighs has created art on found materials and left them on the street for unsuspecting passers by to pick up, take home, and love. The project, called FreeArtFriday, has blossomed into an international movement with thousands of active members leaving a little bit of their heart and soul out on the street for somebody to find.

Each can has its own history, its own story to tell, feeding families before being rescued from the recycle bin and given a new lease on life as one of the growing family of Canman.

Find out more here. Watch a great little video here.
